Hard Drop, his first science fiction novel, is based on a script shortlisted for the Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship, and is the first in the Hard Drop Series.

This novel is a "balls to the wall" action thriller. Great characters and a very fast plot. I will keep a sharp eye out for more of this author's work . Great read!!!

Exciting scifi adventure

This is a fantastic scifi action adventure with compelling characters bonded by an intense military brotherhood and split apart by secrets and lies. From start to finish, this is an exciting ride and is well worth a read. Building on a rich tradition of military scifi, this manages to be original and fun, pulling elements from Hollywood, video games, and a wealth of scifi and military lit. 5 stars!

This Needs To Be Made Into A Movie

This novel was well written and had a good pace. The author really has a knack for setting the scene. I felt like I was there along with the unit. I can't wait for the follow up so that I can find out more about what makes Tyco tick. Enjoy!

Read F. Scott Fitzgerald’s first two novels and first two collections of short stories in this stunning anthology of the great American writer. Fitzgerald defined his time and is widely considered to be one of the most important and readable authors of the twentieth century.

Fitzgerald named an age- the Jazz Age, which he defined as ’a generation grown up to find all Gods dead, all wars fought, all faiths in man shaken.’
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was born in 1896 in St Paul, Minnesota, and studied at Princeton which he left in his senior year (1917) to join the army. At one of his army postings near Montgomery, Massachusetts he met Zelda Sayre. His first novel was ‘This Side of Paradise.’ published in 1920, which made the twenty-four-year-old Fitzgerald famous almost overnight, and a week later he married Zelda in New York. Their tumultuous marriage became an inspiration for much of his work. They were young celebrities of the roaring 20s but Fitzgerald wanted to be a great writer though his reputation as a playboy meant some people didn’t take him seriously.

In 1922 Scribners published ‘The Beautiful and Damned’, of which The New York Times reviewer said that the ‘general atmosphere of the book is an atmosphere of futility, waste and the avoidance of effort, into which the fumes of whisky penetrate more and more, until at last it fairly reeks with them.’

The Fitzgeralds went to France in the spring of 1924 to get away from all the hubbub, and he wrote his masterpiece ‘The Great Gatsby’ during the summer and autumn in Valescure near St. Raphael, France.

His fourth novel ‘Tender is the Night’ received a poor critical reaction when it came out in 1934. Fitzgerald was eventually forced to try to earn a living as a screenwriter.

He died in December 1940 in Hollywood while working on ‘The Last Tycoon.’ Since then he has been granted his wish to be considered one of the leading writers of the twentieth century.

His novels in chronological order are: ‘This Side of Paradise’, ‘The Beautiful and Damned’, ‘The Great Gatsby’, ‘Tender is the Night’, ‘The Last Tycoon’ (unfinished).

Good solid story line. Fun tale of adaption and the hazards of space for the unwary traveler. Always makes me want to take off and see new planets, people and adventures.

HEARTBEAT OF SILENCE~

Stanik and Veera are a beautiful couple who show love can grow in silence. Heartbeat of Silence is a wonderful fantasy set on a world in rebirth. The writing style of Ms. Grace carries the reader along on waves of romance they will never want to leave. As an introduction to the author and series it was a wonderful experience and one I look forward to repeating.

Great Story, Great Characters!!

I truly enjoyed this story. The characters were very well developed and even likable and easy to relate to. The story was also complete and well written too. I loved seeing the bringing in of the psi healing talented Yaluthu creatures. They also have a story too. There was a lot packed into this book and it flowed well and although the reader may want more, more wasn't necessary to complete it. Highly recommended.

The Call of the Wild is a novel by American author Jack London published in 1903. The story takes place in the extreme conditions of the Yukon during the 19th-century Klondike Gold Rush, where strong sled dogs were in high demand. After Buck, a domesticated dog, is snatched from a pastoral ranch in California, he is sold into a brutal life as a sled dog. The novella details Buck's struggle to adjust and survive the cruel treatment he receives from humans, other dogs, and nature. He eventually sheds the veneer of civilization altogether and instead relies on primordial instincts and the lessons he has learned to become a respected and feared leader in the wild.

London lived for most of a year in the Yukon and gained from that experience material for the book. The story was serialized in the Saturday Evening Post in the summer of 1903 and released a month later in book form. The great popularity and success of the story made a reputation for London, with much of the story's appeal based on the simplicity with which he presented the themes in an almost mythical manner. As early as 1908 the story was adapted to film and has seen several more cinematic adaptations since that time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

John Griffith "Jack" London (born John Griffith Chaney, January 12, 1876 – November 22, 1916) was an American author, journalist, and social activist. He was a pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction and was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone. He is best remembered as the author of The Call of the Wild and White Fang, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush, as well as the short stories "To Build a Fire", "An Odyssey of the North", and "Love of Life". He also wrote of the South Pacific in such stories as "The Pearls of Parlay" and "The Heathen", and of the San Francisco Bay area in The Sea Wolf.

London was a passionate advocate of unionization, socialism, and the rights of workers and wrote several powerful works dealing with these topics such as his dystopian novel The Iron Heel, his non-fiction exposé The People of the Abyss, and The War of the Classes.
